Thousands of Dubai residents have received a text from “Faz3”, the content stating: “I challenge you to join the Dubai Fitness Challenge”.
Did you get it?
If you had received the text message then you were one of thousands to be personally invited by His Royal Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, and Chairman of the Executive Council to join in on the Dubai Fitness Challenge.
After mere hours of taking to Twitter to challenge some of Dubai’s top companies to take up the ’30 minute x 30 days’ challenge, it was the residents of Dubai that sat next on the Sheikh’s list.
The text left many Du and Etisalat customers reeling with excitement, many of whom accepted the challenge with vigor and posted it on social media.
“Ahh! @HamdanMohammed challenged me. #DubaiFitnessChallenge #PrinceHamdan #SheikhHamdan #MyDubai,” Twitter user @Grascious_Gal tweeted, with a screenshot of the text message, while @tjtechdxb tweeted: “Now that’s something you don’t see everyday! Got a text from @faz3 #dubaifitnesschallenge #Dubai30x30 @DXBFitChallenge.”
Also posting a screenshot of the text was @Rasha__a3, who simply replied with: “Challenge accepted. @HamdanMohammed @dubaifitnesschallenge #DXBFitChallenge.”
But @toyeenb said she was still waiting for her invite: “Ok, so I am still waiting for my own SMS from the coolest prince that ever liveth, @HamdanMohammed! Everybody in Dubai has received theirs! Kindly do the needful! #dubaifitnesschallenge #Dubai30x30 #TBW #Dubai #MyDubai #DXB #UAE.”
The Sheikh took to Twitter on Tuesday and asked Emaar, Emirates NBD, Jumeirah Group and GEMS Education Group to commit to 30 minutes of exercise per day for 30 days, starting from the 20th of October to the 18th of November, alongside many other companies to the long list of people whom he personally challenged.
